Uncompahgre Nordic Association

The Uncompahgre Nordic Association (UNA) is a community-based, non-profit organization (501 (c) (3)) composed of skiing enthusiasts dedicated to the enhancement of Nordic skiing for individuals of all ages and abilities in the Montrose Area. UNA encourages safe, enjoyable skiing on the Uncompahgre Plateau while protecting the natural beauty of the area.
Who Are The Trails For?
The trails are maintained for non-motorized, over-snow recreation with a focus on Nordic skiers. We encourage all users to enjoy our community trails and respect others.
As a reminder, these trails are on U.S. Forest Service Lands. You are skiing at your own risk.
Classic Nordic Skiers

Classic "Kick and Glide" Skiers are the most common users of our area. Tracks are set on all trails when grooming occurs.
Skate Skiers

We groom to a width accessible to skate ski where possible and have done great improvements widening some of the trails to accommodate skate skiers.
Snowshoers

Snowshoers are welcome! Please review trail use etiquette for snowshoeing on the ski trails. Hiking/walking on the ski trails, severely degrade conditions.
Fatbikes

Fatbikes are not recommended. Snowmobile clubs groom Divide Road and other trails in the area. Check out this information/map for groomed snowmobile trails nearby on the Uncompahgre Plateau.
Dogs

Dogs are allowed on the ski trails. Please keep them on leash around the trailhead/parking areas, and keep them in sight and under voice commands at all times.Hold your dogs off trail while groomers are passing. Help us be good community stewards of these trails and remove any dog waste you see from the trails, the trailhead and parking areas.
